Pope Benedict XVI today addressed issues ranging from the sex abuse scandal in the Roman Catholic Church to the "alarming decrease" in Catholic marriages in the U.S. Speaking to U.S. bishops, he said the abuse of children by priests has caused a "deep shame" and the scandal was sometimes badly handled.
