The Dalai Lama today called for an international probe of China's treatment of Tibet, which he said is causing "cultural genocide" of his people. A spokesman for the Tibetan exile government said it has confirmed at least 80 deaths in clashes between pro-autonomy demonstrators and Chinese security forces in the Tibetan capital Lhasa.

Three people missing after NYC crane collapse more similar news »
Three people are missing a day after a crane collapsed and killed four construction workers on the east side of Midtown Manhattan, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said. Rescue workers are searching for two construction workers and a neighborhood resident in the wreckage of a five-story townhouse destroyed by the top portion of the crane.
