Iraqi official: U.S. attack copter kills six allies more similar news »
Six Iraqis were killed today when a U.S. helicopter fired on a gathering at what may have been a pro-U.S. group's checkpoint, officials said. A Samarra police official said the helicopter mistakenly hit a Sons of Iraq checkpoint. The U.S. military said the attack occurred after people were "spotted conducting suspicious terrorist activity" near a recent roadside bombing site.

Gov. Richardson endorses Obama more similar news »
New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson plans to endorse Sen. Barack Obama in the Democratic race for president today, an Obama campaign spokesperson told CNN. In an e-mail to supporters, Richardson said Obama will be a "historic and a great President, who can bring us the change we so desperately need."
